EYEnstein of the Week: Lindsay Fullam

"My daily goal is to improve the world around me!"

• Born in: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
• Favorite Music:  I like everything! rap, pop, country, EDM... 
• One unique thing about Lindsay:  I want to travel to every continent. I've been to three so far!
• Favorite sport: Basketball
• Sees herself practicing optometry in: Southern California. Close to the beach!
• Favorite  class this quarter: Visual Optics 
• Favorite restaurant in Fullerton: Chomp
• Lindsay's Xmas wishlist: I'm so bad at thinking of things to ask for... the only thing i came up with was hot pink Nikes!
• Lindsay's plans for Xmas Break: Going home to Havasu

  

 

Western Regional Conference 2013

The Class of 2017 had a great time at the Western Regional Conference hosted by SCCO. Our day consisted of sitting through lectures given by OD's, meeting other optometry candidates from Berkeley and Western, and having a great night in LA. We look forward to attending next year's WRC hosted by Western University!

EYEnstein of the Week: Kelly Nguyen

"I love desserts: chocolate cake is better before the main meal."

• Favorite Music:  Italian music (Eros Ramazzotti, Paolo Meneguzzi)
• One unique thing about Kelly:  I love to go apple picking!
• Favorite sports: Soccer
• Sees herself practicing optometry in: West Coast
• Favorite  class this quarter: Optics II
• Favorite restaurant in Fullerton: Da Rae Korean BBQ
• Three things on Kelly's Xmas wishlist: Just 1 thing: Chocolate mousse cake :)

EYEnstein of the Week: Jacqueline Byrd

"My favorite things are Christmas and snow ~ I really do like Southern California though!"

• Born in: Warner Robins, Georgia
• Favorite Foods:  Any type of pasta, Mexican food, dry chex cereal, anything pumpkin
• One unique thing about Jacqueline:  I watch entirely too much TV 
• Favorite activity/hobby: Playing board games 
• Biggest pet peeve: It use to really bother me when people left their Macbook open because I thought it was running their battery down, then I found out you could turn off that setting so your computer would go to sleep :)
• Sees herself practicing optometry in: Eventually back in Missouri
• Favorite Professor at SCCO: Dr. Berman
• Favorite restaurant in Fullerton: Nekter 
• Jacqueline is most thankful: That I love my SCCO family so much, I'm not even that sad to not get to go home for the holidays

 

EYEnstein of the Week: Jamison Soupir

"I ride my bike in a tie and running shoes."

• Born in: John Day, Oregon
• Favorite Foods:  Dark Chocolate, Kohlrouladen (Stuffed Cabbage Rolls), Dense Bread (not airy sandwich bread), Huckleberries, Cheese, and Frozen Yogurt 
• One unique thing about Jamison:  I like to clean and wash dishes; these are relaxing for me.
• Favorite activity/hobby: Alpine Skiing! I love the cold!
• Biggest pet peeve: Drivers not using turn signals
• Sees himself practicing optometry in: Western US
• Favorite Professor at SCCO: Dr. Bailey
• Favorite restaurant in Fullerton: Polly's Pies
• Jamison is most thankful for: Having a loving and supportive family

Thanksgiving Potluck at The Treehouse

Before we all headed off in our own directions for the holidays, the "Treehouse" hosted a pre-thanksgiving potluck! A BIG thank you goes out to the residents of the Treehouse (Krista, Jaqui, Natalie, & Elaine) for having all of us EYEnsteins over! It was fun to gather outside of the classroom and enjoy some yummy food together! Can our class cook or what?! Everything tasted AMAZING! 

The class cabinet is THANKFUL for all you EYEnsteins for being such a wonderful class. We love serving you guys! Can't wait to see you all back in a week. Enjoy the well deserved break!!!
